It may not look like much, but this place makes me truly happy.
Especially in the Spring when everything is green and the air is still cool.
Everything is fresh and new and so full of life.
I love it when we can let the horses out and just let them do what horses do.
This is Taffy, who thoroughly enjoys the spring grass.
(The color isn't very good, but there are little lavender flowers just above her. So pretty.)
This is Hot Rod.
He is Courtney's horse, and they are the ones who started this whole horse ranch thing.
Lucky us.
This has got to be one of my favorite views when riding...
...and my other favorite view when I'm not.
Their eyes are so soft and beautiful.
What a girl wouldn't do for eyelashes like that?
We have random other animals hangin' around that are just plain amusing.
The peacock (Mr. P.) practically chases Phil down
when he first gets there so he'll feed him.
I still have yet to catch him with his feathers up.
A breathtaking sight indeed.
This is Lacey, our Appaloosa. She's so full of energy. You go Old Girl!
I love to just sit and listen to the crunching when they chew.
Very relaxing.
And, the baby. Hasley, named after this Canyon she was born in.
She is Taffy's filly. Part Mustang, part Arabian and wow, can she prance!
(Her Dad, "Stud" was hit by a car before she was born.)
Phil's been training her and she's doing magnificently.
Talk about random! This is "Billy"... Get it? Billy Goat?? (:
We got him to eat the weeds, and he doesn't really care for them much.
He's a bit crazy, but we keep him around for the comic relief.
Everybody's happy.
I love your ranch! I've only been once, but it was a blast. Everything looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJanelle! You blogged again! I loved seeing your horses and ranch through your "eyes" and thoughts. Really cool.
ReplyDeleteWe had such a great time at the ranch with you that day! We told the kids that when we got our new house that we would probably get a couple goats to eat the weeds, and Kami about fell off her chair! She said, "no goats! Remember what Billy did to me?!" She said it with a laugh, so I don't think it traumatized her. =) We just thought that was funny when he butted her in her bum! How is Phil's arm?? =)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I have never seen it! Your horses are beautiful!
