Oh NO!!

Well! Would you look at this!
That's my cowboy husband training his filly, Hasley.

Look how GREAT she's doing!
(This is the first time he's tried to get on her.)

Oh No!
Spoke too soon!
(His feet aren't even in the stirrups.)
So he played buckin' bronco for a minute 'till she spun and ...

... landed here! ):
Oops. Broken wrist.
He also landed on some recently diagnosed bulging discs in his back.
This probably calls for a new MRI.

Won't slow him down though.

He said he would rather end up spending the afternoon in the
emergency room because he was doing something
exciting than just sitting at home on the couch. (:

You Go Cowboy Phil!

My Little Piece of Heaven

It may not look like much, but this place makes me truly happy.
Especially in the Spring when everything is green and the air is still cool.

Everything is fresh and new and so full of life.

I love it when we can let the horses out and just let them do what horses do.

This is Taffy, who thoroughly enjoys the spring grass.
(The color isn't very good, but there are little lavender flowers just above her. So pretty.)

This is Hot Rod.
He is Courtney's horse, and they are the ones who started this whole horse ranch thing.
Lucky us.

This has got to be one of my favorite views when riding...

...and my other favorite view when I'm not.
Their eyes are so soft and beautiful.
What a girl wouldn't do for eyelashes like that?

We have random other animals hangin' around that are just plain amusing.

The peacock (Mr. P.) practically chases Phil down
when he first gets there so he'll feed him.
I still have yet to catch him with his feathers up.
A breathtaking sight indeed.

This is Lacey, our Appaloosa. She's so full of energy. You go Old Girl!
I love to just sit and listen to the crunching when they chew.
Very relaxing.

And, the baby. Hasley, named after this Canyon she was born in.
She is Taffy's filly. Part Mustang, part Arabian and wow, can she prance!
(Her Dad, "Stud" was hit by a car before she was born.)
Phil's been training her and she's doing magnificently.

Talk about random! This is "Billy"... Get it? Billy Goat?? (:
We got him to eat the weeds, and he doesn't really care for them much.
He's a bit crazy, but we keep him around for the comic relief.

Everybody's happy.
But I'm not sure who's happier ...
them ... or me. (;

Way too looong since I blogged. I promise to do better.

Presidents Weekend
we took the RV, quads, kids, yummy food
and went to Dumont Dunes ...

Tanner, Courtney and Blake came down to spend the few days with us.

Phil can't resist a great big mud puddle!
He says it makes the truck look better.

A man and his toys ...
(and how I love him in those jeans! (; )

Tanner and the open dunes ...
the need for speeeeeed.

Dallas? Dude, is that you?

Trevor and Shelby ...
Shelby's been such a good sport with all the crazy things we do.

Courtney and her boyfriend Blake ...
Blake had never been quad riding in the dunes.
He learned pretty quickly!
It's a guy thing (:

GREAT weekend! Always goes too fast.
My favorite times, the family all stuck in one place.
I love being with them, hearing them laugh, watching them having such fun with each other...
Makes my heart sing.

San Diego for Trevor's Birthday!!

So on June 1st, just a couple of days after Tanner Graduated... our oldest turned...26!  Aauggh!
We decided to drive down to San Diego and surprise him and with the help of Shelby,
we may have done just that.  (:

We wandered around beautiful San Diego...

went to the beach...

fed the wild animals...

and buried Dallas while he was asleep (:

To celebrate Trevor's birthday, we went to Dave and Busters for dinner and games. Trevor described it as a grown-up Chuck E. Cheese.
Accurate description!

So Much FUN!

Shelby showed us all how it was done and was the "big ticket" winner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY  'TRAVIS!'
We Love You!

Tanner Graduated!

I'm having a really hard time still processing the fact that our last child is
out of high school!

Tanner and Pat Spiker...
Never anyplace they can't be themselves.

I don't think anyone is happier about this exit from high school than Tanner!

Go Tanner!
We love you and can't wait to see what your future brings.
